Amy Winehouse Found Dead in London Apartment

Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment today and although the 27 year old soul singer had a tremendous reputation for using drugs and alcohol, police in London say that it is still too soon to say if her death was alcohol or drug related.

A London police officer was quoted as saying, “”I am aware of reports suggesting this death is the result of a suspected drugs overdose, but I would like to re-emphasize that no post-mortem examination has yet taken place and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of death.”

However, TMZ reported that Scotland Yard has ruled out foul play in Amy Winehouse’s death. A press release from the Metropolitan police did not mention Amy Winehouse by name but stated “Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.”

Every report on Amy Winehouse’s death is pointing to this performance in Belgrade as the ultimate warning sign that the singer was on another destructive path. In this video, she can be seen staggering around the stage and forgetting the lyrics to her own songs. Several “Boos” can also be heard coming from the crowd. This sad performance was to be Amy Winehouse’s last.
